• Assisting at Sunday Worship (reading lessons, offering the prayers, presenting bread and wine, serving the cup at communion, etc.) Children and youth are welcome to assist with processions, baptisms and other actions in the liturgy.

• Assisting with repair and maintenance work.

• Sponsoring a newly baptised child. A sponsor is someone who can make a phone call or pay a visit once in a while to offer friendship, support and interest on behalf of St. John's to the child and to the family. Often, a child is baptised and then the family loses touch with the church. Also, many parents lack an extended family living close by to offer support and encouragement. By acting as a sponsor, you can fulfil the role of a caring family member. Families who have had children baptised have said they greatly appreciate having a sponsor from the congregation. Please consider this important ministry. A few phone calls are all it takes.
